We
saw a story on the internet a little while ago in which
three 16 year old High School girls in White Plains, New
York, had been suspended from school for saying the word
vagina during a reading from The Vagina Monologues at a
school event.
They
had apparently been expressly told by 'those who must be
obeyed' in the school not to say the V word during the performance.
But
they bravely stood up for their freedom of speech, and said
it anyway.
They
were immediately given a day's suspension which presumably
had not been served because the school has now rescinded
the punishment...
According
to reports we have seen this was the line that cause the
trouble:
"My
short skirt is a liberation flag in the women's army,
... I declare these streets, any streets, my vagina's
country."
