Newquay,
Cornwall (England): A vicar threw off his cassock and sprinted to the bride mother's
house to get the wedding rings after the chief bridesmaid realized she had forgotten
to bring them.
Rev
Chris McQuillen-Wright, 35, of St Columb Minor Church, near Newquay, marathon
champion at the Tresco Marathon in the Isles of Scilly in 2003, made the dash
in 4-5 minutes depending on which paper you read.
Nobody
could get through to the house on the phone. The bride and her mother were about
to leave when the vicar knocked on the door.
The
vicar returned with the rings before the wedding car and the ceremony went off
with only the necessary hitch, the marriage of Chris Smith to Lucy Rid.
