First:
take a couple who want to pay for their burgers by debit card.
Get
the couple to give their order: 2 Whopper Jr's and two Rodeo cheeseburgers, say.
Cashier:
"That'll be $4.33, sir."
Customer:
"Okie dokie. Here's my debit card."
Cashier:
"Thank you sir."
Cashier
types in $4.33.
Cashier
types in $4.33 again.
$4,334.33 is charged to the debit card.
Something
similar to this happened last week in Palmdale California, at a Burger King, as
reported by the Associated Press.
The
couple got a full refund for what was an accident on the burger chain's part,
and the couple didn't have to pay the original $4.33.
