Nick
Flynn, 42, has received a letter from the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, England,
banning his visits after an incident in which he accidentally destroyed three
300 year old Chinese vases, reports Ananova.
Mr
Flynn, who is receiving disability benefit after a bike accident, told the BBC:
"I
snagged my shoelace, missed the step and crash, bang, wallop, there were a million
pieces of high-quality Qing ceramics lying around underneath me.
"I
suppose that, seeing they were the prize possession of the museum, they were just
lying on a window sill... I thought they might take a bit better care of them."
The
Qing vases are thought to date back to the late 17th or early 18th century. They
had been on display in the museum for the last 40 years, during which time they
had become one of the museum's best known exhibits.
