This

a cough?
Why
not suck on a snail?

That's
what a company in La Florida, Chile, is basing it's cough remedy on, according
to newspaper Las Ultimas Noticias.
The
cough mixture is called Karacoflu and is made palatable by artificial flavorings
of strawberry and avocado (because, presumably, snail slime tastes disgusting).
Owner
of the snail farm that makes the concoction, Maria Sannino, told the paper:
"I
have more than 8500 snails working so we can get material for this ancient cough
medicine recipe."
"The
snail slime has antibiotic properties as well as antibacterial and anti-inflammation
ones."
