1980 Ronald Reagan Wins Landslide Against Jimmy Carter

At the age of 69, former B-Movie actor and governor of California, Ronald Reagan, defeats sitting president Jimmy Carter with 489 electoral votes against the Democrats' 49.

Ronald Reagan's Vice President would be former head of the CIA, George H Bush.

Reagan was inaugurated as president on 20 January 1981.

1922 King Tutankhamen's Tomb Entrance Found

It was discovered in the Valley of the Kings, Egypt, by British archeologist Howard Carter.

Carter had been looking for it since he first arrived in Egypt in 1891, but it wasn't until after the first World War that an intensive search began.

Carter, accompanied by fellow archeologist Lord Carnarvon, entered the tomb on November 26th to find an incredible collection of treasures.
