1986 Head Of Renault Shot Dead

Georges Besse was murdered outside his house by a man and a woman on a motorcycle. He died of multiple shots to his head and chest. Authorities believed the murder was carried out by anti-capitalist group Action Directe.

Although Besse had taken the French car company into profitability in September, his methods had infuriated the trade unison; he had laid off 21,000 workers in his first 18 months at the head of the company.

Barbara Baekeland is stabbed to death by her schizophrenic son, Antony, in London, England. When police arrived he was calmly ordering a Chinese meal.

It was alleged that Barbara was so distressed at her son's homosexuality that she attempted to seduce him, as a cure...

There were reports that the two had threatened each other with knives on a number of occasions.

Antony was institutionalized at Broadmoor. However an error led to his release. He went to live with his grandmother in New York in July 1980. He beat and then stabbed her to death.

He was sent to Riker's Island where he suffocated himself to death March 20, 1981.
