1951 The Trial of Ethel And Julius Rosenberg Begins

New York Southern District federal court: US citizens Ethel And Julius Rosenberg were accused of selling nuclear secrets to the Soviets.

David Greenglass was a machine operator at Los Alamos - it was here that the USA developed the atomic bomb. Julius Rosenburg was a member of the Communist Party. Greenglass was Julius Rosenburg's brother-in-law.

Greenglass claimed that Julius Rosenburg had asked him to send the Soviets secret details of how to build a nuclear bomb, and it was on this confession that the case against the Rosenburg's was based.

After a trial lasting a month, Ethel and Julius were convicted and sentenced to death. Greenglass got 15 years as a reward for his cooperation.
