citizens Ethel And Julius Rosenberg
were accused of selling nuclear secrets to the Soviets. David
Greenglass was a machine operator at Los Alamos - it was here that the USA developed
the atomic bomb. Julius Rosenburg was a member of the Communist Party. Greenglass
was Julius Rosenburg's brother-in-law. Greenglass
claimed that Julius Rosenburg had asked him to send the Soviets secret details
of how to build a nuclear bomb, and it was on this confession that the case against
the Rosenburg's was based. After
a trial lasting a month, Ethel and Julius were convicted and sentenced to death.
Greenglass got 15 years as a reward for his cooperation. |
