Tokyo, Japan: Nerve Gas Attack on Subway | It
was on this day that lethal sarin gas was released on the subway at Kasumigaseki
station. It was at the height of the rush hour. The group responsible were from
the Aum Shinrikyo religious cult. 12
were killed, 5,500 were treated in hospital. Most recovered but some were injured
for life with eye, lung and digestive system damage. Were it not for the fact
that the gas could not circulate properly, tens of thousands could have been killed.
