Hydrogen Bomb Lost In Spain | A
B-52 bomber collides with a KC-135 jet tanker while trying to refuel flying over
Spain's Mediterranean coast, dropping three 70-kiloton hydrogen bombs near the
town of Palomares and one in the sea. During the cold war US planes constantly
circled the globe. Around 36 such accidents were known to have occurred. Over
500 claims for compensation were eventually settled with locals. |

The Great Brinks Robbery | $2
million was stolen from the Brinks Armored Car depot in Boston, Massachusetts.
11 criminals were involved in what was almost the perfectly executed crime. It
fell apart when one of the thieves, Specs O'Keefe, threatened to talk. A hitman
was sent to shut him up but he was only wounded. O'Keefe made a deal with police
and 8 of the participants were caught and convicted. Most of the money was never
found. |
