Stan Laurel Starts Work at Hal Roach Movie Studios
Stan
Laurel was the creative mind behind one of the all time great comedy partnerships
with Oliver Hardy. Laurel starred in his first film in 1917 but did not achieve
international success until he was teamed up with rotund Hardy to form Laurel
and Hardy in 1926.
They
appeared together for the first time in the movie Duck
Soup. Their first feature film was Pardon Us. They won
an Academy Award in 1933 for The Music Box, the trials
of two removal men attempting to get a piano up an enormous
