Calls For Help In Leaning Tower of Pisa Slow-Mo Collapse
| The
Italian government puts out a call, on this day, for help in stopping the Leaning
Tower of Pisa from it's slow-motion collapse. The
Leaning Tower of Pisa, a medieval building, is one of Italy's top tourist attractions
but was believed to be in imminent danger of complete collapse in the event of
an earthquake or violent storm. Work
on the tower didn't actually start until 1999 when engineers began removing soil
from the north side in an attempt to force the tower to re-balance itself, which
proved successful. |
