1959 World Famous Ballerina Released From Jail

Dame Margot Fonteyn was released from a 24 hour stay in Panama City jail after her husband, Dr Roberto Arias, was accused of planning a coup against the government of Ernesto de la Guarda.

She immediately flew into New York airport where journalists mobbed her.

Her husband was missing.

The British ballerina was famous for dancing the swan in Swanlake.
