One
of the funniest movies of the 1990's. Mike Myers stars as the three
main characters Austin Powers, Dr Evil and Fat Bastard in the first
sequel in the Austin Powers series. We think this is the best one
of the (first?) three and withstands many repeated viewings.
This
is the first in the series to introduce Mini-Me (Verne Troyer) a
brilliant gimmick which adds a shed load of jokes and possibilities
as he vies to out do Dr Evil's son, Scott, for Dr Evil's affection.
In
this at times truly laugh out loud hilarious movie, Austin Powers
goes back (again) to the 1960's to find his Mojo, stolen (by Fat
Bastard working for Dr Evil) from Austin Power's cryogenically frozen
body.
Dr
Evil is undoubtedly the comic highlight of this movie complete now
with evil sidekick Mini-Me. Fat Bastard is a parody of lippy Scots
types. Austin Powers a James Bond spoof by an American who has observed
well the idiosyncratic London-English language and mannerisms.
Felicity
Shagwell
(Heather Graham), an American agent, provides the love interest.
We
think this movie is a brilliant spoof of its target. It is shot
entirely in Southern California - you can see the Hollywood hills
in some of the outside 'London' scenes.
Buy
the DVD and you'll watch it many times.
