Pastor Terry Smith of Gainesville, Florida, says he will go ahead with his plans to burn 200 packets of Quorn, the meat substitute, this Saturday.
He and his 50 strong congregation disapprove of meat substitutes and claim that it causes animal unemployment.
Saturday was chosen because it is the two year anniversary of his first meal of Quorn-chicken nuggets that he was given by his wife who didn't telling him they weren't chicken.
General Petraeus has asked for the burning to be halted in case it is mistaken for a similar Quran burning incident scheduled for Saturday which may cause violence in the Middle East.
