What Are The Differences Between Vista And Windows 7?

Microsoft Melee

It has only been a couple of years since Microsoft changed the face of computing by removing the word 'Start' from the button in the bottom left of the XP screen that you had to click to shut the machine down. (It still says 'Start' in Vista if you roll the cursor over it.)

So, what new treats are we to expect in Windows 7 coming out this week? Our panel of experts explain.

Concerned Citizen
Harry Meedsden, Circus Artist

"I have no idea, but wouldn't it be hilarious if Microsoft put a head in the Windows 7 box just like Kevin Spacey did in the hit movie chiller Se7en?"

Shocked Man
Jerry Sprinkler, Radio Talk Show Host

"The difference is between a nice quiet night in, or about 2 hours for the upgrade, 3 hours for my usual Microsoft upgrade panic attack afterwards, and $119.99. "

Muscleman
Hug Tharsden, Bodybuilder

"As a technophobe I am just relieved that there is absolutely no difference whatsoever between Windows Vista and Windows 7. Phew, the upgrade won't be giving this bunny any headaches. Well done Microsoft for a necessary upgrade but no noticeable change whatsoever."

Old Gipper
Gramps Rusky, Organic Farmer

"Huh? Just in time! Microsoft, you geniuses! How did you know I needed a box about an inch and a half thick to put under my monitor? (I'm getting a pain in the back of my neck and this will undoubtedly help my posture.) They think of everything! Bargain."

Ape Man
Harry Baldicoot, Retired retirement consultant

"Windows 7 is better than Vista for home networking, it starts up quicker and the box is green for the Home Premium upgrade. $119.99 is chicken feed. On the downside, upgrade to 7 from XP and you will die. Disclaimer: I am a shareholder in Microsoft."
