'Lovable
rogue' US mortgage provider Freddie Mac died last night, he
was 50 years of age.
Mr
Mac's tough love set him apart from other mortgage providers,
such as when he told one couple “I’m gonna bust
your head till the white meat shows” after they threatened
to walk away from a mortgage set to go into foreclosure.
Freddie
Mac had a reputation for being an angry stage presence,
and when Hollywood came calling he specialized in a line
of wily con men. He also excelled at playing short tempered
grumpy bastards.
In
the month before his death, Freddie Mac performed at a fundraiser
for Barack Obama but told an expletive laced monologue for
which the presidential hopeful had to apologize later.
Freddie
Mac's death could cause considerable problems for the new
president.
