Speculation
that Britney Spears will stand for US president in 2028
continue to grow this week, after readers on a website voted
overwhelmingly to support the singing superstar for public
office.
The
poll, on website TeenPregancy.com, says that 97%
of its readers wanted the performer to stand for leader
of the free world.
We
are sure that a spokesman for Ms Spears would have told
our reporters had we bothered to contact her:
"Ms
Spears is keeping her options open.
We
are talking 20 years in the future and it would be premature
to declare our hand at this juncture.
We
will rule nothing in or out."
Were
she to become President, Ms Spears would be the first former
member of the Mickey Mouse Club to become leader of the
free world.
We
have been unable to confirm rumors that her running partner
will be Justin Timberlake.
