All
Boston teams were united in celebration last night after
the Red Sox beat the St Louis Cardinals 3-0 for a four-game
sweep, the first time the Red Sox have won the World Series
since 1918.
Dougie
Wannabeater, manager of soccer team The Boston Green
Shorts, currently itself on a losing streak of 75 matches,
says he has never been more optimistic:
"I
cried openly and at length last night. I felt it a liberating
experience and look forward to crying some more later this
weekend."
Boston's
largest Boxing team, The Boston Scarlet Gloves, also
paid tribute:
"It's fantastic news even though it's a sissy game."
Hubert
Onoimont, manager of The Boston White and Turquoise
Checked Jerseys, a golf team, could not suppress his
enthusiasm:
"I'm
completely speechless... I can't talk any more... sorry..."
Chief
bowler in bowling team The Boston Black Red and Yellow
Stripy Shoes, told us:
"We
had to close the Bowling alley early last night as the
tears made conditions treacherous."
