The
little reported, but ancient, Turkish sport, in which men
dress in leather trousers and cover themselves with oil before
throwing each other all over the place on grass, may have
been hit by the latest terrorist outrage, we can't be sure.
In
the ceremonial 'covering each other in oil' stage of
the tournament, someone seems to have added wallpaper paste
to the traditional olive oil.
Nobody
noticed until the tournament started.
An
eyewitness recalls:
"The
first I noticed, two of the wrestlers just stood there holding
each other. It was like looking at a living statue in the
making, eerie but homo-erotic at the same time. Not
that this is much different to a normal match as contests
can take hours."
